SOS Social Centre Ulannbaatar

The Family Strengthening Programme, is based at the SOS Social Centre and has a set goal to involve 250 children to programme.  The course at Ulaanbaatar aims to provide a service including education and health, social welfare and food and 310 children were involved in the programme in 2008.

For educational service: 22 children had illiteracy and involved to “step by step” programme and learn to read and write. 6 of them are going to school. From September 2008 started “home work” programme and 78 children, who can’t do lesson at home in daily time and no comfortable in the cold season because of no fuel or need the help of teacher of poor family involved. Children had study achievements.

For health service: 186 children and 45 adults involved to health service and treated eye, teeth, heart, skin disease.

For increasing the family income: Green project implemented with “Ecological education” centre for 10 families of 21st khoroo, Bayanzurkh district. Families provided 6-8 kind of seed and held training for plant the seed. Agronomist, honored teacher Badamsed and Bat-Ochir organised the training. 6 families had received vegetables.

Also 12 people were involved in the construction course of “Construction centre” and 8 mothers took part in a sewing course. 18 children had training for handcrafts. Children made with felt the bag and slippers for exhibition.
